ABOUT CUCADOR

Cucador The Site of New HORIZON Villas is near the little village of Cucador, located in the beautiful Almanzora valley. Cucador is near the famous towns of Albox and Huercal Overa. Twenty minutes from the coast, handy for the fishing port of Garrucha, and the now very popular seaside resort of Mojacar with its scenic beaches clear waters and the spectacular Pueblo, a pretty village built into the mountainside. As you can see from the views of the site, the area has stunning views all around, and is well known for its easy access to the motorways, taking you either to the coast or further inland to explore the wonders of Spain. ABOUT LOS CARASOLES

Los Carasoles Los Carasoles is a lovely village, being mainly spanish. It is an area which has all kinds of facilities very nearby, such us Hospitals, shops, post office, chemist, schools and the bigger towns of Huércal-Overa and Albox. The coast is just a 20 minute drive. In the picture you can see some of the beautiful paradise views. Plots sizes range between 458 m2 and 641m2.

ABOUT PÁLACES

Palaces Palacés is a small typical Spanish village, which is part of Zurgena.”. The plots available in this area are on the outskirts of Palacés and have spectacular mountain and valley views, which are guaranteed to stay, because of the impossibility to build in the valley. Plot sizes start off from 377m2 to 625m2.

LOCAL COMMUNITY

Albox Albox has a thriving Library and information center for Ex-pats, called the Almanzora Group of Friends, which has some five hundred members. Apart from normal library facilities they offer back up and support to their members in areas which you might have difficulties in, such as Spanish Laws and regulations etc

Away from the throng but still in the centre. Many have realized the benefits of coming a few kilometers inland and living away from the tourist traps of today. The peace and quite, the more inexpensive housing, more space, and the freedom to move around. The coast is always there if you want it and its so near! For the sporty amongst you there are a variety of golf courses, bowling clubs, not to mention the water sports along the coast.

A ten month long summer The region is famed for its wonderful climate, boasting 270 days of sunshine, and a very low rainfall. Couple this with the easy way of life and the healthy diet, what more could you ask for! THE ALMANZORA

Almanzora Basin

The Almanzora basin further North, is a prosperous district thanks to the marble quarries, amongst other resources. It is a more densely populated area containing a wealth of beautiful villages.
In Olula we can feast our eyes on a parish church, constructed entirely from marble, and nearby is the bustling town of Macael the marble capital.
Further down towards the coast is the town of Albox .Growing rapidly, due mainly to the increase in Ex-Pats from U.K over the past three to four years.
Albox and its surrounding villages have become a focal point for U.K residents to settle.

Almazora Valley

The Almanzora valley offers some of the most spectacular views in the Almeria region.
The province of Almeria features widely varying landscapes and districts from the Valez lands with churches the size of cathedrals, such as La Encarnationin Velez Rubio, and not forgetting the mountain areas, such as Los Filabres.
The Tabernas desert presents landscapes to be seen nowhere else on the peninsular.The famous Mini Hollywood is located here where films like a Fist Full of Dollars were made.
The Wild West village has been perfectly preserved and is a major attraction putting on daily shows and mock gun fights. It also boasts an extensive zoo.

HUERCAL OVERA

Fiesta!

Huercal Overa surrounded by orchards and possessing remarkable buildings, offers plenty of interest to those interested in caving and Archeology.
During the summer months, which counts as about ten in this part of Spain, most villages and towns have their Fiesta’s, which can last from one to seven days.
Depending on the size of the town or village and the funds available, will reflect the amount of entertainment available. Be warned don’t go early, as most nights things do not start to get going much before eleven at night, and carry on to whenever they feel like going home which sometimes is as late/early as eight am!

One of the reasons siesta was invented, get a good afternoons sleep before the Fiesta starts, as if you live in the area a Fiesta is taking place, you will not be getting any sleep on those nights!!
Si, the Spanish now how to enjoy themselves, so go with the flow, or get in a good supply of ear plugs!

Huercal Overa has very good facilities with a variety of hotels, restaurants, a modern hospital, a municipal swimming pool and leisure centre. Huercal Overa is well served by the motorway network, being one kilometre away from the main North – South motorway. A procession is held in the Easter week through Huercal Overa to celebrate the Passion of Christ. Here groups of statues are carried on floats by figures. This spectacle has been declared a National Tourist Attraction.
